Rini Price’s statement on the political drawings and paintings

The drawing of Martin Luther King, Jr., from the day of his assassination was probably the first overt work of political art that I have done. There have been a few pieces along the way, but the election in 2000 set me off and the event of 9/11 jarred a lot loose.

The series of four large (for me) figures, called Human in the Time of Fools I, Human in the Time of Fools II, Human in the Time of Hibernation, and Human in the Time of Confusion, began 9/12/2001.

Many drawings in sketchbooks keep me sane.
